Self-Determination Program
ED Academics also proudly supports students and families participating in California's Self-Determination Program (SDP) through the Regional Center. We partner closely with Independent Facilitators (IFs) and other members of each student's support team to provide individualized educational therapy, executive function coaching, academic support, and skill-building services.
Our collaborative approach ensures that families have access to the resources, guidance, and personalized support needed to help students achieve their educational goals while making the most of their Self-Determination Program.
For PRofessionals
ED Academics values interdisciplinary collaboration.
We regularly partner with licensed psychologists, neuropsychologists, psychiatrists, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, physicians, and schools to provide coordinated support for students and families.
Educational therapy complements psychological assessment and treatment by translating recommendations into practical, measurable academic interventions.
After an evaluation, many families ask:
"Now what?"
That's where educational therapy begins.
We help implement recommendations by teaching executive functioning, study strategies, self-advocacy, organization, and academic skills that can be practiced in everyday learning environments.
Our collaborative approach includes:
Ongoing communication with providers
Implementation of psychoeducational recommendations
Executive function intervention
Progress monitoring
Parent education
School collaboration
Individualized educational planning
If you are a psychologist seeking a trusted educational therapy partner for your clients, we welcome the opportunity to collaborate.
